I've been walking around a town
that's already been barred down
trying to make'em think
I'm a guy that's been around
and seen a thing or two,
lots of pavement 'neath my shoes
truth is I'm only lounging
livin' off the dollars
that I'm barely even scrounging
waitin' for the midnights bus
to make some sort of life for us
or just take me far away
from your moods and nags
and stupid ways
cause I never really wanted;
when you got it.. gots to flaunt it
but these days I'm pretty bare
only thing I got is cares
and lately there's too many
like livin' off these dimes and pennies
and no one round that I can trust
